Our mission is to cultivate community by the blending of human values and education with the Earth's natural life cycle through cooperative organic gardening and stewardship. The SJCC Kesher Community Garden will consist of 10'x10' patches as well as a children's learning garden. Each patch will be individually rented.
We are creating an organic SJCC Kesher Community Garden and education and theraputic space at the Mercer Island SJCC. Our mission is to connect people to one another and the Earth.
We invite you to join the community garden; you get a patch of land to grow vegetables, fruits and flowers that you can use for your own use. Relax and enjoy the beauty of the unfolding gardens and wooded native plant area.
In addition to those public growing spaces, the Kesher Community Garden is also a learning garden; look forward to children enrolled in ECS, summer camp and after-school programs benefit from getting their hands dirty and exploring our natural world.
Don't think the learning garden is just for kids; we will have demonstration gardens as well, where you can learn more about organic practices, composting, medicinal herbs, and food demonstrations.
If you would like more information or have questions about the SJCC Kesher Community Garden, please contact garden manager Jessica Klein DiStefano at jessica@peapatchgardens.com.
