The SJCC 25-yard indoor pool has a 2 1/2 foot deep preschool instructional area, adult lap lanes, and a certified lifeguard on duty at all times. Our popular Lil' Bubblers class introduces infants to the water with their parents. Our Red Cross learn-to-swim program is taught by experienced instructors who help children improve their technique, strength and endurance in a supportive atmosphere. Adults may drop in to swim with their kids, take private lessons, swim laps, or participate in masters swim and low-impact water exercise classes.
We are 2012 ParentMap Golden Teddy Award Winners!
We won again! For the second year in a row we have been voted "Best Swim Lessons" and "Best Sports Camp" by the award-winning monthly magazine and website, ParentMap.
Winner! Swim Lessons
We were inundated with votes for the Stroum Jewish Community Center's swimming lessons. The J — as it is called on Mercer Island — offers aquatics programs for babies to adults. Parents praising the J’s swim programs cite the relaxed atmosphere and supportive environment among the best features. “My kid swims like Michael Phelps now!” crows one parent. The biggest raves came in for the instructors: Readers call them “exceptional,” “wonderful,” “caring,” “skilled” and “patient.”
If your family does not yet have an SJCC membership, we invite you to start learning more about us with non-member swim lessons. Contact SJCC Aquatics Manager Andrea Selix at AndreaS@sjcc.org or at 206-388-0821 for more information.
