SJCC Early Childhood Education offers programs for children ages three months through kindergarten. We offer morning and full-day programs on a school-year, summer and year-round basis.The Stroum JCC operates two Early Childhood Education schools, one on Mercer Island and one in north Seattle. Tours and Open Houses
The SJCC invites families interested in enrolling in our Early Childhood Education programs for the 2010-11 or to explore current openings for the remainder of the 2009-10 school year school year to meet our administrators and teachers, see our classrooms and learn more about our philosophy. Tours last about an hour. During this time you will meet faculty members and administrators, tour the facility, and see classrooms. You will receive information on the application process and the school's philosophy as well.

School Year
Our school year begins in early September and ends in early June; 12-month programs end in late August. Summer programs are available on a limited basis. Registration remains open until all spaces in the program are filled. After that point, we will take waiting lists on a first-come, first-served basis.
SJCC Membership
SJCC membership dues are included in ECS tuition payments.
Priority Application for 2010-2011
Please note that if you apply for a program where applications exceed the number of available positions, we will give priority to the following:
1. Children matriculating within the program (eligible for current family registration)
2. Children who have a sibling in the program (eligible for current family registration)
3. Children who have a sibling who graduated from the ECS Program and have remained current SJCC members
4. Children of SJCC family members who are on the waiting list
5. Children of SJCC Parenting Center members who are on the waiting list
6. Children of non-SJCC members who are on the waiting list
7. Open Enrollment (which started February 17, 2010).
You will be notified within two weeks to confirm your acceptance and enrollment in or wait list for the ECS program.
Priority application for summer 2010 will be given to students enrolled in the 2009-2010 school year, students enrolled in the 2010-2011 school year, and then new students.
Wait Lists
New families that desire to be placed on a waiting list must complete a wait list form and a guided school tour. If a space becomes available, the family will be notified by phone and given 5 business days to respond and register for the program before the space is offered to the next person on the wait list. If a family chooses to decline a space in the program, that family will be moved to the bottom of the wait list.
