Reflective Parenting: Discipline from the Heart

Monday mornings

October 11^th thru November 29th (8 total sessions)

11:30 – 1:30 pm

$200 for individuals or $300 per couple

This innovative 8 week workshop is for parents of children between the ages of 1 ½ to 5 years of age.  The aim of the program is to help parents develop skills to enhance their ability to understand and build stronger relationships with their children.  In Reflective Parenting groups parents gain confidence by expanding their understanding of the meaning of their children’s behavior. This understanding helps parents better regulate their own and their child’s emotions with the intention to become less reactive and more reflective.  Parents who are able to regain a state of calm are more engaged, more effective, and therefore feel empowered and successful.

Parents participating in Reflective Parenting will develop:

*       New ways to communicate with children

*       Greater capacity to regulate children’s emotions

*       Increased parenting confidence

*       Effective behavioral interventions

*       Awareness of the impact of their own behavior and feelings on their

        children’s development

The group meets weekly for 8 weeks.  Each session is two hours long.  The fee is $250 for one parent and $300 for two parents.
