The SJCC Summer Camp CIT program has been revised for summer 2013. While making the transition from camper to counselor, participants will have an opportunity to be a positive role model as they create lasting memories for themselves and their campers. Additionally, teens will gain a better understanding of their strengths and develop valuable skills for working with children.
Our CIT program involves both classroom and field experiences designed to encourage teens to become role models and leaders in our Jewish community. CIT participants plan programs, lead activities, create projects, teach Judaics, and share responsibilities for a group of campers. CITs also attend weekly workshops led by SJCC staff members. At the conclusion of the session, participants will be provided a certificate of program completion and documentation of community service hours.
Prospective CITs must complete an interview before being accepted into the program. CIT-trained teens are not guaranteed placement at SJCC Summer Camp as a counselor the following summer.
