Curbside Drop Off
Back by popular demand! Between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m., staff members will be outside waiting by the curb, ready to greet campers and deliver them in to their respective camps. Our counselors will sign your camper into camp and make sure they get to their camp group. If you participate in curbside drop off, please have your child ready to exit the car when a staff person greets you. You are still welcome to park if you want to walk with your child into camp. For safety, please have your child exit on the passenger side of the car. Parents, please stay in the car. We also ask that your child remain in the vehicle if there are no staff member present.

Morning Care: M-F, 7:30-9:30 a.m., $50 per week
Afternoon Care: M-F, 4-6 p.m., $50 per week

This fee must be paid at time of service or will be automatically charged to your credit card. Morning and afternoon care is only available on a weekly basis.

Health and Safety
As a safety precaution, all children must be signed in every morning and signed out every afternoon. To sign out your camper, you will need to provide a photo identification and be on the camper’s list of authorized persons to pick up. This form is required for every camper in camp. Any other arrangements must be cleared by your child’s camp director.
All our staff is first aid certified. Half of the camp day is spent outdoors, playing, swimming, and/or walking to and from activities. Counselors make sure children apply sunscreen throughout the day; please include sunscreen and a water bottle in your child’s backpack every day.
Staff Members
The heart of SJCC Summer Camp is our dedicated and caring staff. Staff members are carefully selected for their experience, skills and sensitivity with children. All staff members are required to participate in a training program. Our low 8:1 camper-to-staff ratio ensures each camper receives personal attention and guidance during their camp experience.
The majority of our staff members spent their summers as SJCC Summer Camps campers before becoming counselors. Senior counselors have all completed at least one year of college; junior counselors are 11th or 12th graders who have successfully completed our pre-camp training programs.
Communication
Our counselors and supervisory staff focus members on the growth and learning of each child. The camp director is available to answer any questions you may have as well as to discuss your child’s personal growth at the end of the camp session. You can also find schedules and information on our parent’s only camp website which we make available to all our campers and their families.
Field Trips
Most of our camps include trips away from the SJCC. Vans and buses are used for these activities. Every child is required to wear an SJCC camp t-shirt and bracelet that has our name and phone number on it. The utmost care is taken for the safety of your child. Field trip sites have been prescreened by our staff.
Dietary Restrictions
All camp lunches must be vegetarian, dairy, or fish based. No meats are allowed at camp (pork, beef, chicken, turkey, etc.). Egg products are allowed. In addition all lunches and snacks must be non-perishable and peanut free. We do allow tree nuts. We provide snacks in the afternoon that are composed of fresh vegetables or fruits.
Summer Swim Lessons
Swimming lessons are available before and after camp in the SJCC indoor pool. For information, contact SJCC Aquatics Director Andrea Selix at AndreaS@sjcc.org or 206-388-0821.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact us so we can help you make summer 2013 the best ever!
